Classroom Teacher

The College is welcoming applications for a full-time Classroom Teacher for the commencement of classes in 2023.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Eaton College, this role exists to provide excellent education for students with Autism working towards quality of life and focusing on educational outcomes. They would need to provide quality instruction within the College’s Biblical framework and in accordance with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements. 

SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications, experience and qualities:

  • Bachelor of Education or Graduate Diploma of Education (coupled with other undergraduate degree level qualification)
  • A current Queensland College of Teachers registration
  • Demonstrate exemplary interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Patience and a high degree of understanding and compassion
  • Have clinical or educational experience of working with students with Autism
  • Support the Christian ethos of the College

Teacher Aide

The College is welcoming applications for a part-time (term-time) Teacher Aide for the commencement of classes in 2023.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Classroom Teacher, this role exists to provide support to teaching team and students in the effective delivery of quality education for students with Autism.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications, experience and qualities:

  • Appropriate qualifications and expertise, including a Certificate III in Educational Support or equivalent, and knowledge and experience relevant to the role is desirable
  • Experience in working with students with Autism
  • Patience and a high degree of understanding and compassion
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and colleagues, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff in a classroom environment
  • A positive notice Working with Children Check Blue Card or a current Queensland College of Teachers registration
  • Support the Christian ethos of the College
